AFTF Applauds the National Policy Framework for AI

Alliance for the Future (AFTF) applauds President Donald J. Trump for his national AI framework announced today. It is a serious effort to protect the public from real harms, not speculative or imaginary ones, while still preserving the conditions that allow American innovation in AI to thrive.

We are especially encouraged that the framework provides a positive, forward-looking vision for AI policy, and one that continues to move the conversation away from those who fear the future, and toward practical, pro-innovation policies that support builders, creators, and the public.

The United States needs a single, rational, and workable national policy on AI, not fifty distinct and contradictory ones. President Trump’s framework is a powerful step toward achieving that. It is now up to Congress to take up the Administration’s call to action. AFTF will continue our vital work to help make that happen in the coming weeks and months.
